Welcome to Hidden Valley Lake Association

Come for the Valley – Stay for the Life

It’s nestled in the hills of historic Coyote Valley in southern Lake County of Northern California. Google it and you'll discover that we're from 22 miles north of Calistoga, between Middletown and Lower Lake, and about two hours from either San Francisco or Sacramento. Over 3300 homes and lots, and more than 7500 residents in a secure, gated community call Hidden Valley Lake home. With more than a dozen amenities in and around its 102-acre lake and semi-private 18-hole championship golf course, folks from all over northern California stay, play, tour, shop and dine.

As an active, vibrant, multicultural community, Hidden Valley Lake embraces the surrounding area's historical, cultural and political ideals and opportunities. Working in harmony with each other and the environment, Hidden Valley Lake residents have created a progressive community that is right for the times. Its residents enjoy the enviable balance of small town quality, yet with a short drive, they can easily reach their urban wishes.

Nationally recognized as having the best air quality in California, and the third best in the nation, Lake County, at 1327 square miles, boasts a number of similar rankings. It has the largest lake in California and the oldest lake in North America, Clear Lake; the Geysers is the largest geothermal field complex in the world; and Lake County Diamonds, also called "Moon Tears" are semi-precious stones of volcanic origin found nowhere else in the world, but are scattered in many places in the county. There is not enough space here to begin to tell about the richness of the wine and pear industries, but it’s easy to experience both just minutes from any of our five gates.

One of the most common refrains that you’ll hear about Hidden Valley Lake is the plethora of friends everyone seems to make here. Not surprisingly, especially when you consider the sense of belonging to a community that is engendered by the residents through their participation in the myriad number of clubs, committees and social activities. Those are just some of the reasons we say, “Come for the Valley – Stay for the Life.”

From your computer you can explore beautiful Lake County with Doug McConnell's Open Road. (Loads slowly.)
